Casual Friday: ColourPop, Wisdom Teeth, and Vacation

I'm so happy it's Friday!!! It's always a wonderful feeling knowing that I can sleep in the next morning! LoL I've had a pretty interesting week, and I have some even more interesting things happening in August.

New Ultra Metallics by ColourPop
First off...I'm hoping that the first day of August (Monday) I will received my ColourPop Ultra Metallic lipsticks in the new shades! I'll know when I get home from work if I have them yet or not, but I'm hoping that I'll be able to start August off with some pretty swatches, plus comparisons with their four darker shades that were just restocked! I might even see how they look mixed together into some metallic ombres or mix them with some of my ultra satins to see what I can come up with. :)

Pretty much what my wisdom teeth are doing...
Now for some bigger news...towards the end of August I will finally be getting my wisdom teeth removed! I can't wait! I have been needing to get them removed for about seven years now, but I've never had the insurance to cover the procedure until now. Of course, my wisdom teeth have become even more compacted than they already were back then, so my molars have started bending around my wisdom teeth a bit...or at least that's what it looks like in my X-Rays. It's pretty crazy looking... They have started causing me occasional pain about a year ago, too. I'm going to be so happy with this is done! It's happening on a Thursday so I don't think I'll have a Friday blog post up that week, but we'll see how I'm doing. I may do SnapChat story instead...haven't decided yet, and I probably won't until that day. It won't be the end of the world either way. I should be able to chat about it the next week, though.

The beach we will be visiting
That following week's blogs are probably going to be a little mixed up, too, because 10 days after my wisdom teeth come out, my fiancΓ© and I are going on vacation for a week! ^_^ We leave the Friday before Labor Day weekend, and we will be in North Carolina visiting with family and going to the beach for at least four or five days before we come back home and just chill for our remaining vacation time. I can't wait for that! I need beach time! It's way overdue! Plus, I love the family we are going to be visiting so I'm excited to see them again. :)

So yeah...the beginning of August may not be too busy, but it will definitely become a bit cluttered with plans later on. I'm excited for everything to come that I can share with you guys, and I'm so excited to be getting some stuff out of the way and for a much needed vacation!

That wraps up this Friday's post! Keep an eye out on my Instagram and Snapchat for some more updates on things or just the randomness that is my life! ;-P

Beauty Wednesday: St. Tropez Self Tanning Kit

Hello again everyone! I am back with another beauty product review! This Wednesday, I am going to talk about my experience and overall review of the St. Tropez Self Tan Starter Kit!

St. Tropez Starter Kit
I did a lot of research, mainly through YouTube, about what the best self tanning mousse is out there, and I kept seeing St. Tropez pop up. One video spoke about this starter kit, so I went to Ulta, I found it and picked it up to try it out for myself. I have had experiences with other self tanning items in the past, but most of them would make me turn orange, and I didn't want to pay $40 for a one time spray tan that would only last for two weeks before I needed another one.

When I heard about St. Tropez, I heard about it being compared to another product that I had been using already...the Jergens Natural Glow Instant Sun Mousse. I had been having issues with this product blending on my hands and feet, which I found out was a problem for everyone who's used, which is why I decided to look for something new.

This Starter Kit comes with four products:
- Body Polish
- Body Lotion
- Classic Tan Mousse
- Tanning Mitt

This product sells for $25, and I thought that was a really good price for someone who's just trying out a new tanning option. The full-sized bottles of the mousse go for about $40-$44...and that's just for the mousse! Since I was just starting to experiment with using new self tanner options, there was no way I was going to toss up over $50 for a mousse and mitt with the fear that it wouldn't work for me, so $25 for everything you need to get enough experience with the product to know whether you like it or not was a huge deal!

Let's start this off with the Body Polish, since this is the first step in your self tanning routine.
St. Tropez Body Polish

The Body Polish is an exfoliating scrub to use in the shower to get all the dead skin off your body before you tan. The directions suggest doing this, at maximum, 24 hours before you tan. I, personally, shower and tan almost immediately after my shower and after I've taken care of my hair. I also think this step is optional. When you shave, you exfoliate. I happen to shave my legs, my arms, and sometimes my stomach (if I'm going to the beach or something). That doesn't leave many areas, that I can reach anyways, left to be exfoliated. Of course, not everyone does all that so the Body Polish, or any exfoliating body scrub, would work to make sure your skin is nice and smooth before getting out of the shower and tanning.

The next step I take care of in my tanning routine is moisturizing my joints, such as my elbows, knees, and ankles. I also moisturize my hands and all over my feet because these areas tend to dry faster than the rest of your body, which can leave your tan looking patchy or uneven. This is where I'll get into the St. Tropez Prep and Maintain Body Lotion.

There isn't actually too much to say about this lotion. It's very hydrating and moisturizing, and it goes on smoothly, but any lotion will do the trick for this step. You don't absolutely HAVE to use the St. Tropez lotion to moisturize the dry areas in order to get your tan to look right. I've used my Bath and Body Works lotion before, and I got the same even results. I would have to say that the only reason I would use this over my other lotion again would be to not have a weird scent later. All self tanning products have a strange scent when they start developing, so mixing that weird scent with something fruity just doesn't make anything better. This lotion doesn't have much of a scent, and the little that it does have smells like the mousse anyways. Because of that, when the tan starts to develop, the scent just smells normal.

Now for my favorite step of this routine...applying the tanning mousse!

You definitely need to use the mitt, or some sort of glove that doesn't let moisture through, to apply a tanner. The mitt helps blend the tanning product evenly on your skin so you're not left with streaks or spots. The St. Tropez mitt does a great job with blending out the mousse and keeping things even, but I would honestly recommend a double-sided mitt overall. This mitt likes to spin around my hand while applying the tan, which can case possible scratches from the sides going through the mousse. No matter how I positioned my hand in the mitt, it would spin around while I applied my tanner.

The mousse, however, gives a wonderful color! It doesn't get patchy on your joints, hands or feet after it dries (given that it's been applied correctly)! I usually shower and tan early Saturday mornings when I have nothing to do, sit around letting it develop, and I rinse everything off about 6-8 hours later. I would suggest applying at night and letting it develop overnight...this just works best for my schedule and gives me a reason to relax on the weekend. :) I've never had a self tanner give me such a natural and bronze glow before! As I said earlier, a lot of them just turned me orange. -_-

I did use this once for my face, and I loved the way it turned out, but I wash my face twice a day and found that there wasn't a point to self tanning my face to begin with. I can just use my makeup to make everything look natural!

I haven't been able to try out the dark tanning mousse yet, but I do plan to at some point. That seems to be the most popular shade for St. Tropez even for people with skin as fair as mine. I honestly get scared to try dark tanners because I have fair skin, but we shall see how it works out at some point!

As for my rating, I would rate the Starter Kit itself a 10/10 because it comes with everything you need for when you're just starting to self tan for the first time ever, or if you're just trying out the brand's products for the the first time. It's a good price to pay for something that you may not be sure about committing to yet.

I would rank the individual products as:
- Body Polish: 10/10 - it may be optional, but it is a really good body scrub and exfoliates very well
- Body Lotion: 10/10 - also an optional lotion choice, but it does its job well
- Tanning Mousse: 10/10 - leaves a very natural and blended finish to your skin
- Tanning Mitt: 7/10 - my only product in this kit that I wasn't thrilled with because it spun around my hand a lot when applying the product

That's my review for St. Tropez! I love their brand and their tanning products, and I would highlight recommend them to anyone! Their products are sold at Ulta and Sephora so check em out if you're interested! :)

I have another self tanner that I've heard many good things about that I'm about to test this weekend, I'll be posting results on my Instagram (@ktparte) when I do so don't worry! :) Until then, make sure you follow me there so you don't miss any other exciting updates and mini-reviews on products! I just go my Boxy Charm yesterday and posted quite a bit so check it out! :)

I hope everyone has a great Wednesday! πŸ’‹

Makeup Monday: Who Is She Cosmetics Lip Composites

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend!

For those of you who follow my Instagram, I know I put up my TooFaced eye shadow looks, but I decided today I would finally put my review down for a product I've had for a while that is just one of a kind...that product would be the lip composite from Who Is She Cosmetics! :)

I first heard of this brand not long after I joined Instagram. Someone I followed posted these gorgeous lip swatches of the lip composites, and I just fell in love! About a month later, I was able to buy four of the composite colors, and I ended up getting a free fifth one by surprise! I've done my mini-reviews on Instagram with these little guys, but I really feel like I need to designate a blog post about them because they deserve the attention!

To start, Who is She Cosmetics is an online brand/company, and is completely Vegan and Cruelty Free! Right now, the Lip Composites are their only product, but, if you follow them on Instagram (@whoisshecosmetics), you will see their new products in the making...highlighters!!!! ^_^ I can't wait for those to launch! I'm dying to try them out, especially if they're as impressive as their lip composites!

I copied and pasted this next bit of info from their website to explain what the Lip Composites are before I start my review on the product:

What is a Lip Composite?
It's Part lipstick.
Part Lip Gloss.
Part Lip Stain and Part Magical all Mixed up in a 5g Pot of Beautiful Color!
That is what a Lip Composite is!

Ok, now onto the review!

When I received these products, I thought the packaging was so cute! The lip composites are in the little pots, and you just use a lip brush to scoop some out and apply it to your lips. A little bit goes a long way with these, too, and you can mix them up for different color looks! They are very metallic, which I love, and they're probably more glossy than they are a lipstick, but the formula feels so good on my lips! It's creamy and buildable. It's not uncomfortable sticky, but the color will transfer. Now, even though the color will transfer, you do get a stain on your lips to hold the look together so it doesn't look patchy throughout the day. When I tested out my darkest color (Sinner), I only had to reapply it once during the day, and that was after lunch. The color was still there, but the metallic/gloss wasn't so I just felt the need to reapply it to get the shine back. :) It wasn't very necessary, though.

Of all the colors that this brand offers in Lip Composites, I got Angelic, Mystique, Sinner, Silent Rose, and my freebie was Fools Gold. I've done swatches and video applications on my Instagram to show everyone how easily these can be applied, and how gorgeous they all are from the pot to my lips. There are much better lip swatches on their website since zoomed in cell phone pictures aren't exactly the best quality. ;) These are the best swatches I was able to get pics of when I applied them, though. I'm pretty happy with the outcomes!

All of these colors can be worn with just about any outfit or look...except Fool's Gold would be the exception on my end. My skin is fair, and I have blue eyes and dirty blonde hair so a green lip color isn't really anything I go reaching for, but this color is absolutely lovely! Given, I'll probably only be wearing it on St. Patrick's Day, but I'm willing to find other times to wear it, too, just because I can't let that beauty be wasted!

As for my rating on these little guys, I would rate them a 9/10 in my book just because they do transfer, which means they can make things a little messy. Other than that, I love them! They are all in my makeup bag that I take with me every day to work, and they are always one of my main options of lip colors that I choose for the day. I recommend these to everyone who love lip colors and especially metallic, glossy lip colors! I'm definitely going to be getting more colors sometime in the future, and once their highlighters launch, you can bet I'll be getting my hands on those, too!

Check out the Who Is She Cosmetics website to learn all there is to learn about this brand, and check out their products! If you have Instagram, follow @whoisshecosmetics to keep up with their new products and the colors/swatches of what they have now!

No, this blog was not sponsored in any way, shape, or form, I'm just a huge fan of this brand/company, and I just love their products and their service! They're very unique and friendly, and just very innovative and creative with their products. <3

That wraps up this review! I hope everyone is off to a great start of this week so far, and I hope the rest of your Monday goes well! Don't forget to follow me on Instagram @ktparte if you haven't already, and you'll see all my mini-reviews that may not have made it to my blog yet! You'll also be more up to date whenever I receive new products, which I'm expecting a couple goodies to be coming soon, including my first Boxy Charm box! I'm excited! :)

Anyways, have a great day everyone, and I hope you come back next time! πŸ’‹

Casual Friday: Makeup and Games!

Hey everyone, and TGIF!

I'm so ready to be able to sleep in this weekend! This week started off perfectly fine, but I started being tired in the morning yesterday, and it was even worse today. I'm so sleepy that even caffeine isn't helping me out. :(

Anyways, I'm thinking tomorrow I'm going to try out different looks with my Chocolate Bar eye shadow pallet. The pallet came with a little booklet of three looks so I may try to recreate those, and, if I'm feeling creative or have the time, I may come up with a couple looks of my own. I don't have a creative mind when it comes to doing new looks so it'll be fun to challenge myself.

I got my first Jeffree Star product, which is the Watermelon Soda Velour Liquid Lipstick that stocked yesterday! I'm so excited to be receiving that soon! I also have a faux sheep skin area rug coming in soon, which will make showing of new stuff 100 times nicer. I hate that all I have to show my stuff on at home are my bed sheets or a bath robe. -_- This should fix that problem!

Chocolate Bar Pallet Looks
Aside from that, I probably won't be getting too many more new things since I got a ton of new products for my birthday. I have that pallet to review, the two Benefit brow products to review, a couple of masks (YouthMud from GlamGlow and a charcoal Boscia mask), and the Kathleen Lights ColourPop Ultra Satin liquid lipsticks. I still need to get a review up here for Who is She Cosmetics, too. That one should've been up a while ago, so I may get that review up Monday and hold off on the Chocolate Bar pallet review till the next week.

On a non-makeup note, I've been absolutely hooked on Twilight Princess! The first time I ever played the game (back in 2006 or 2007), I got stuck somewhere so I stopped playing. I've definitely passed where I got stuck the first time, and I've made a lot of progress. I'm loving this game! Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask have been my all time favorites of the series, WindWaker used to be my least favorite, but I had never beaten that one until about a year ago when I played it on the WiiU, and I ended up loving that game. Twilight Princess I think still beats that one in my mind, mainly because of how awesome Midna is as a side character. She's not annoying at all, and she's probably been the most helpful side character of the series. I've never played Skyward Sword, but I've heard Fi is awful, and after watching some play-throughs of the game, I don't think I would disagree with that opinion. Navi and Tatl were about even on the annoyingly inconvenient stopping of the game scale, but they're tolerable. I just love how Midna doesn't ever really stop you in your tracks at all. If you try something new and you don't get it after a couple of tries, the icon for her blinks and makes a mild beeping sound to signal that she can help you out, and she really does! I've definitely been enjoying this game so far, and I can't wait to beat it for the first time! :)

Well, this kind of turned into a game review, but I can't help it when it comes to Legend of Zelda games. I forgot to mention earlier that I'm hoping to be able to get out and catch some more Pokemon this weekend on Pokemon Go (another series I'm into are the Pokemon games). I may even be able to go to a gym this time since I wasn't level 5 the last time I passed one...so yeah...hoping to make more progress there, too. LoL

I think that'll do it for this post! I hope all of you have a wonderful weekend, and I hope you'll return here Monday! :)

Don't forget to follow @ktparte on Instagram to see my little updates!

Have a great Friday everyone! πŸ’‹

Beauty Wednesday: Clearasil Ultra Rapid Action Acne Treatment Pads

Happy Wednesday everyone! I hope you have had a great weeks so far and that the weekend starts to get here faster!

Today's post will be on the Clearasil Acne Treatment Pads (the full title is a mouthful!) since these are what I used when I had my bad breakouts recently. Keep in mind, my results may very from anyone else's since everyone has different skin and different reactions. :)

First off, I did use these when I was a young teenager. I would get the occasional pimples on my face, and I never really wore makeup because I didn't know what to do with most of it so I felt like everyone noticed when I broke out. They would get red, and I would usually try to pop them myself, which sometimes caused scabs to occur. Thankfully, I never got any scarring (that's noticeable anyways), but pimples still come up on my face today. It's not crazy acne...just nasty bugger here and there on my face. Blegh!

Recently, I had a bunch of pimples that came up probably because I tried on about three different foundations and primers and who knows what else while I was testing out product to review. I had a few that scabbed up really badly or just simply wouldn't pop. I decided to go get something for them so I found the Clearasil pads that I used when I was a kid. The label states that it's rapid action and will diminish redness and size of pimples within four hours so I was like "Yep...that's what I want!"

Well, I got home and immediately washed my face and used one of the pads. They definitely stung in the breakouts that had opened up and popped already, and the fumes coming off of them made my eyes sting. Well, after that, I just went to my room and chilled out for a while...played some video games and watched TV with Josh. When I went to brush my teeth and wash my face again, I noticed NOTHING had changed on my face. At this point, I figured maybe it's because it was just my first time using them. I used another pad after I washed my face again and went to bed.

Morning came...still no difference. This lasted for about a week, and I was using them three times a day, which is the recommendation on the container. Josh eventually told me that I need to just not put anything on my face, including makeup and moisturizer, and they would go away. I argued a little bit because I really didn't want to go without makeup while having these huge blemishes on my face, but after a day of him telling me this and the Clearasil pads still not working, I decided I may as well try and see what happened. I didn't have anything to lose really.

Now...I did keep using concealer over the blemishes, but I washed it off as soon as I got home from work. I didn't moisturize my face...I didn't use any other makeup on my face...all I did was cleanse it as I normally would in the morning and at night. Sure enough...after TWO DAYS of just leaving my face alone...blemishes got smaller and scabs started to fall off! I was so happy about not having to worry about my face looking crazy anymore! Given, I still have some marks left from a little remaining dead skin that still hasn't come off with exfoliant, but I have no more blemishes or scabs on my face! Who would've thought that the best thing to do was to just leave it alone? I guess that's why I have Josh in my life! ;-P  He really did give me the best advice, and I think back now and wonder why I thought it was so crazy that I should just leave my skin alone for the time being until it all just went away. I guess I figured if someone's selling a product to help the situation then that would be better, but, in this case, it didn't.

Sorry Clearasil, but this product literally did nothing for me. It gave me the sensation that it was doing something, but all it really did was dry my face out and make it super shiny...like I had some sort of really thin mask on my face.

These pads are definitely a no go for me. I would rate them about a 2/10. I gave them a little credit due to how there is definitely alcohol in the pads that will do something to your face, but the stinging and the fumes with zero results just aren't good for me. Sorry!!!

That wraps up this review! Let me know if you've ever tried these before and how it turned out for you! Also, don't forget to follow me on Instagram (ktparte) and Snapchat (partepickle)!

Have a great day everyone! πŸ’‹

Makeup Monday: ColourPop Ultra Metallics vs. Milani Amore Metallics

Hey everyone! I know it's Tuesday, but since I decided to take a break on my birthday (yesterday), I decided to post Makeup Monday's post today! I've been dying to get this review/comparison of first impressions out there so let's get to it!

As you all know from my previous blog and Instagram postings, I got the four shades of the ColourPop Ultra Metallic liquid lipsticks, and I absolutely love them! I also received three of the Milani Amore Metallic liquid lipsticks Thursday evening and posted about them Friday letting everyone know how excited I was about them and how gorgeous they are!

Well, throughout that day, I noticed pretty big differences between the two metallics that actually threw me off guard since I've heard the reviews that NikkiTutorials and Jeffree Star gave them. I actually have a somewhat different first impression review on these guys that I just didn't expect, but it's a good thing because it shows how everyone has different experiences with makeup, and we all have different preferences.

ColourPop Ultra Metallic Liquid Lipstick
Ok...to start off, let's get back to my ColourPop Ultra Metallics review that you can read here. In this review, I go over how moussey and creamy and non-drying these lipsticks are. They give off a gorgeous metallic look without caking or peeling your lips. The main downside with these guys was the that they aren't transfer-proof. I would blot them after applying them to my lips to make the transfer less, but it still never stopped the color from clinging onto my coffee mug.

An update to this review is how long-wearing this liquid lipstick really is regardless of the fact that it transfers. My fiancΓ© took me out to eat for my birthday, and I wore Man Eater with my makeup look when we went out. I ate New England Clam Chowder, bread, a salad, and crab legs. Right before we got up to leave, I asked Josh if my lipstick looked crazy, and he said, "No, it looks normal". Sure enough, I got in the car, checked the mirror, and even though you can tell color did wear off, my lips still looked perfectly fine with an even layer of color on them. I couldn't believe it! I never would've thought that they would've stuck so well after all the food and drinks I put it through that night! I'm seriously amazed, and that just made me love these liquid lipsticks even more!

Milani Amore Metallic Liquid Lipstick
Onto Milani's Amore Metallic liquid lipsticks...

When I swatched them, they were gorgeous! They applied so evenly, had a creamy texture, and they smelled like vanilla cupcakes! The first time I wore them, I wore them all together. I put Matte About You on for my base, made a little ombre with Cinematic Kiss, then added a touch of a purple hue with Automatic Touch. Keep in mind, I had chapstick on underneath these. They didn't seem drying at all, and I loved the way the colors blended out and looked on my lips! They were absolutely stunning. I made a video clip to show that these liquid lipsticks are 100% transfer-proof, too! I drank my coffee without worrying how much product would get on my mug because nothing would transfer. I was so happy with these guys, and I was thinking how Jeffree Star and Nikki were right about how well they looked with the coverage and how they didn't dry out yet didn't transfer!

Then, lunch time hit...a lunch that I actually didn't eat anything but a few spoonfuls of peanut butter. By this time, I looked at the lipstick in my mirror and I could see how it dried out...a lot. It settled in to every crack on my lips and started peeling well before I knew. Half of the lipstick on my bottom lip was completely gone! I applied a little more of Automatic Touch and, since the chapstick was gone by now, I immediately felt it dry out. It also clumped up and peeled some more on the other layers I still had on my lips. At this point, I thought maybe it's because I shouldn't have put all three colors on, so I used makeup remover to take every single bit off of my lips and applied Cinematic Kiss by itself. Again, I didn't use chapstick underneath. Not even five minutes later, my lips felt like they had shriveled up from being so dry. They also started clumping and peeling again. At this point I realized that I did have chapstick on the first time so that's probably why I never noticed the drying before. I took out some lip balm and put a light layer on top of the lipstick to moisten my lips back up...and then the color started transferring. -_- I really just couldn't win with these guys.

Now, the colors are still absolutely stunning, and I will continue to use the Milani Metallics plenty, but they just disappointed me for my first impression of them. I had my hopes way up because a lot of people put these ahead of ColourPop's Ultra Metallics, but, after my own experience, I would prefer ColourPop's over Milani's 100% of the time. I just think they're formula came out better, or at least in a way that I prefer more. I used to think I would never like a liquid lipstick that transferred over one that didn't, but I definitely do in this case. ColourPop's liquid lipsticks are just way more moisturizing and comfortable to wear all day, while Milani's gets too dry to where it starts to clump and peel.

Therefore, my overall first impressions review comparing both of these would rank ColourPop as the winner. Milani is amazing, their colors are gorgeous, and I love their products, but their metallic liquid lipsticks just fell short for me. :(

That wraps up this review! I hope everyone has a great day, and don't forget to follow me on Instagram and Snapchat to stay updated with what's going on!

Casual Friday: My Birthday Weekend!

Hello everyone, and happy Friday! I'm so happy this weekend has finally made it since it's my birthday weekend! My birthday falls on Monday so I took that day off work to give myself a little extra weekend to relax on and spend with my fiancΓ©. He's always off on Mondays since he works Saturdays so I always enjoy having a full two days off to spend with him when I get them. ^_^

I've already gotten some early birthday gifts that I'm loving! My fiancΓ© got me my new makeup bag that I posted about on Monday, and I've been using it every single day because I just love it, and it lets me keep my makeup so much more organized than I ever used to be able to before!

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD w/amiibo
He also got me the game Catherine, which I played years ago but could never beat. The game came up a few more times in the GameGrumps YouTube videos, and that got me in the mood to try and finish the game. My only problem was that I couldn't download it onto Josh's (fiancΓ©) Xbox360 because it took up way too much bandwidth so the download would freeze itself and everything else using the internet in the house. I'm so glad he got me the disc because I was able to beat it the other day! :)

He also got me another game I've never beaten from my absolute favorite series...The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD. I previously own this game for the Wii, but the controls stunk, I got stuck in the game, and I never went back to finish it off. I don't even know where that game is anymore, but Josh got me a WiiU two Christmases ago so I'm able to play the HD version now. I also have another LoZ amiibo to add to my collection! :)

L to R: Automatic Touch, Matte About You, Cinematic Kiss
Yesterday, I received an early birthday gift containing three of the Milani AmorrΓ© Metallic Liquid Lipsticks. If you follow me on Instagram (ktparte), you would have seen the swatches I did on my arm of them because I just couldn't wait to see what they looked like! I got Automatic Touch (pink/purple), Cinematic Kiss (light pink), and Matte About You (pink/coral), and I love every single one of them! I'll probably do a comparison blog Monday on these and the ColourPop Ultra Metallics. I may include my whoisshecosmetics Lip Composites, too, since I've been needing to post a review on their products but have never gotten around to getting them done. I've had plenty of mini reviews on my Instagram, but that's it. Haha Those lip composites are definitely unique and lovely, and I enjoy wearing those, too!
Alaskan King Crab Legs...Mmmmmm

Out of all of these things I've gotten so far, my favorite present always comes from Josh because every year for my birthday he takes me out to dinner. We go to the same place every year, and I always get Alaskan King Crab legs! Yum!!!!! I always enjoy the quality time we get to spend together outside the house when we are on our own doing our own things, and I love that this "birthday tradition" happened because I had never been to this restaurant before when he first brought me there four years ago. He knew I would love that restaurant, and it's so nice knowing that's something we will always have for my birthday! <3

Anyways, I think that's it for this post! I'll be updating everyone on my Instagram whenever I get new gifts! I know I'm getting more makeup for my birthday so keep an eye out for pics, swatches, and first impressions! :)

I hope you all have a wonderful day and weekend!  πŸ’‹

Beauty Wednesday: DevaCurl Shampoo, Conditioner, and Styling Cream

Hey everybody, and happy Wednesday! I hope everyone's week has been going well so far! We are halfway to the weekend, and I'm so excited about that because I have a three day weekend for my birthday! :)
Today I'm going to review three products that I've been using for about six months now, and those products are:

For those who don't follow me on any kind of social media, I have very thick and curly hair. Up until I heard of shampoos that don't lather to help curls and frizz in my kind of hair, I was always using regular shampoos and conditions like Suave and Pantene ProV. I got a the set of this cleanser, conditioner, and styling cream for Christmas, and I was ecstatic to finally try out a product that was made for hair like mine! The no lather part worried me a little bit because I like lather so I'm sure the product is really cleaning (same deal with facial cleanser). I was pretty happy with the results I got from all of these products, though. :)

The Cleanser, aka shampoo, looks exactly like a conditioner would. It's a white creamy texture, and it doesn't lather up at all in your hair or on your hands. You need to make sure you're still scrubbing down to your scalp to make sure you're definitely cleaning everything, though. When you have thick hair, this can be difficult, but I found that as long as I keep scrubbing as I rinse the cleanser out then it'll work just as well, and it makes it easier to move my hair around.

The conditioner is like any other conditioner so there's not too much to review on this one. It definitely untangles your hair and leaves it nice and silky smooth. Both this conditioner and the cleanser have kind of an orange zest smell to them mixed with the coconut scent due to the milk within the products. It's not overbearing, and it's pretty refreshing to me.

My only issue with these two product is that they make my hair shed a lot...and I mean A LOT! I don't have bald spots or anything like what Wei consumers experienced, but it really worried me in the beginning that I might get them when I saw how much my hair would shed. I'm really glad it never got to be anything serious, though. My hair is still just as thick as it always has been, and I've had no issues with baldness or thin spots of hair on my head. Of course, shedding as much as this product has made me shed isn't very comforting or pleasant. Haha

Now, the Styling Cream is probably my favorite product. It took me a few times of using it to kind of measure how much of it my hair needed and how to evenly apply it to my hair to give me the results I wanted, but even when I just started using it I loved how it made my hair look. A little bit of this product goes a long way! I literally use one pump of the product and it covers all the hair on my head! It reduces frizz quite a bit, it gives a nice and smooth texture to your hair, and it never gets sticky or crusty after it sets as long as you didn't leave any thick globs anywhere.

I'm sure everyone with natural curly hair knows that you shouldn't brush your hair after you style it or it dries, but I'm just going to reinforce that instruction. DO NOT BRUSH YOUR HAIR! Once you've styled your hair, if you brush it, it will straighten out. When it dries after that, it will leave your hair looking like a thick, wavy afro on your head. This cream requires you to scrunch your hair to help spread the product and get your hair in the curls you desire. As long as you do not brush through your hair, and I mean with a brush, comb, or even your fingers, then your hair will come out with the curls you love!

All of these products working together do an amazing job with keeping my hair under control, and it's amazing since I haven't been able to tame it this well my entire life! I would never wear my hair down if it wasn't straight because of how crazy it would look. Now, I wear my hair down almost all the time. The only time I pull it back is to get it out of my face or if I need to cool off and uncover the back of my neck. DevaCurl's product really do work miracle to me, and they're my holy grail hair products!

As for their ratings...I am going to give both the cleanser and conditioner the same rating, which is an 8/10. If it wasn't for the shedding, it would be perfect, but it really does make my hair shed a lot and it makes my showers longer trying to keep it all from going down and clogging the drain.

The styling cream I will rank a 9/10. It doesn't completely eliminate the frizz that I get, and sometimes I'll need to pair it with another product to keep the frizz just about gone, but, other than that, this product is amazing!

Well, that's it for this post! I will absolutely continue using DevaCurl and probably try more of their products out sometime soon! I hope you guys enjoyed reading my review, and I hope it helped any of you who have been either looking for a good hair product to use or have been thinking of whether or not to try this out!

Makeup Monday: ColourPop Ultra Metallics

Hey everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend!

Before I get on to my review, I have to share something from yesterday night. I actually got surprise early birthday gifts from my fiance, Josh, one of which was a new makeup bag! I absolutely love it! My old one was getting way overstuffed to the point where I had to carry some makeup in my purse. The new bag Josh got me isn't even close to being full, and I'm so thrilled about that! Plus, it's so cute and has a little attitude. ;) I honestly couldn't believe he got me something makeup related, but he definitely hit a home run with this gift! He never fails to make me happy with the little things! ^_^ I am a very lucky woman!
Ok, onto my review that I've been dying to do for you guys!!! It's time to talk about the ColourPop Ultra Metallic Lippies! They've stocked these suckers three times, and all three times they've sold out in MINUTES! I actually had to purchase two at a time because my first order, two of the four had sold out before I could get my hands on them. I literally set a reminder on my phone to go off when the restock happened so I could get the last two I needed, and I didn't swatch any of them until I had them all. After trying the Ultra Satin Lippie that I reviewed in a previous blog, I had to have these. Plus, I'm a sucker for metallic colors. ;)

ColourPop Ultra Metallic Lippies
First thing's first, and that's to let you know what colors all these pretty products are! From top to bottom you have: 3-Way, Kween, Zebra, and Man Eater. The first two colors I bought I didn't think I would like because they're dark and they were 3-Way and Zebra. I fell in love with those two! The pigment on all of these are amazing! I actually would wear every single one of these colors at any time because they're all gorgeous and can go with so many looks!

I know there have been many mixed reviews from others who have used these, mainly about the applicator wand. The wands probably could be better, but they're not awful. One of mine has a wand that doesn't have so much felt on the front of it, but applying the color using the back of the wand works perfectly fine so it's not something I can seriously complain about on any scale.

My own lip swatches
When comparing my thoughts to NikkiTutorials thoughts in her review video (which I've linked again...lol), I have to say that I honestly wonder if she judged these based on the swatches on her hand. I did swatches on my arm (video on my Instagram of my arm swatches), which came out perfectly fine but not with one swipe. I got the same results as Nikki did when just swiping the applicator across my skin. However, when I applied the color to my lips, I never needed to re-dip the wand to get more product. I know Jeffree Starr reviewed these and had to dip the wand many times while applying Man Eater, but that just goes to show how everyone has a different experience with their makeup. In the end, my experience showed me that the texture is smooth and creamy, and the color just applies so evenly and easily that I could never say that these products are a fail! They're a huge success in my eyes!

As you can see in the image above, those are my lip swatches. My lighting is never perfect because I just don't have good lighting in my home, but you can just see how pigmented those colors are and how they definitely have full coverage. Now...these are NOT transfer-proof. I repeat...NOT transfer-proof! They do not transfer a lot of color, but I do recommend blotting your lips after applying these to minimize how much color will go when you kiss someone or drink out of your favorite cups. That being said, these are also NOT sticky! That's a huge plus! They feel like nothing on your lips...at most they feel like a super light mousse.

Neutral Look Called for Man Eater
Note: NOT my Walmart trip look ;)
The formula of these colors are seriously wonderful, and I think ColourPop did an amazing job with getting these metals to work and feel the way they do on your skin/mouth. Overall, I would rate these an 8/10. I would absolutely LOVE to give these a full 10/10, but from a technical standpoint, they do transfer some and the applicators could be better. I am not at all disappointed in these, though. These are going to my some of my holy grail lip colors that I will always be reaching for when doing my makeup! I literally wore Man Eater out to Walmart the other day with nothing else on my face just because I wanted to wear one of these so much! Haha! I know...I'm ridiculous. :-P

Anyways, that wraps up my review! I hope you all enjoyed, and for any of you who got a chance to get any of these for yourself, let me know what you think of them! I would love to hear other feedback to compare different experiences with these products!

Casual Friday: Blog Posting Schedule and Stuff

TGIF everyone! I hope you have all had a great week!

I finally figured out what my blog posting schedule will be since I've just been blogging when I've had time. Because of that, I've been close to running out of things to review. Haha!

I will now be posting to my blog on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Mondays will be Makeup Monday posts, Wednesdays will be Beauty Wednesday posts, and Fridays will continue to be Casual Friday posts! I feel like this will make a good balance as to what I post about and how often. It will also make sure that I don't run out of things to test and review so quickly.

Speaking of reviewing, I'm hoping to get my last two Colour Pop Ultra Metallic Lippies in this weekend so I can swatch and post my review about them Monday! Not to mention...I just can't wait to wear the gorgeous colors! ^_^ I've heard a couple mixed reviews about them already, even though I've been trying to stay away from them so my opinion doesn't sway. NikkiTutorials on YouTube wasn't a fan according to this recent video, but Jeffree Star actually really liked them according to his video comparing multiple brands of metallic liquid lipsticks. Both of them agreed that Milani's Amore Metallics were better than any of the competition, though, including Kylie's liquid metals. I'm hoping to be getting some of the Milani metallics for my birthday so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I'll be able to review them soon, too!

As for this weekend, we actually don't have anything planned so I'll just be running my usual errands (grocery shopping) and doing the usual chores (laundry) and being lazy when I get to be. ;) We have our weekly family dinner Sunday night, which is always fun, and then I'll be back here Monday! If I don't have my Colour Pop items by Monday to review, then I'll be reviewing a different metallic liquid lip product that I've been raving about on my Instagram, and that would be the WhoisSheCosmetics Lip Composites! I'm in love with these little things! They're so gorgeous, and they have an excellent deal going on for the summer! I'll go over those details when the review comes around or you can go ahead and check them out on Instagram or their website to get a head start! I would recommend following their Instagram since they show all their swatches and product demos on there! :)

Well, that's it for this post! I hope you all have a great weekend! Don't forget to follow my mini reviews on Instagram (ktparte)!

I'll catch you guys next week! *kisses*

Makeup Review: Too Faced Born This Way Foundation

Hello everyone, and happy Too Faced Tuesday!!! I hope everyone had a great weekend!

I know a lot of you have been looking forward to this review, and I've definitely been looking forward to typing it up and posting it for the world to see so let's get started!

I've been hearing a lot about one product recently, and that's the Too Faced Born This Way Absolute Perfection Foundation. I haven't owned a single Too Faced product until I picked up this one, but I'd been dying to since I know what a wonderful cosmetic line Too Faced owns! I'll tell you guys one thing...and that's that I'm so extremely happy that I own this foundation!

On the packaging itself, it gives you statistics on what results people have seen with this product, and I'm usually pretty skeptical about those things because a lot of skin care includes that information which usually leads to disappointment. However, I want to share these statistics with you.
Too Faced Born This Way Absolute
Perfection Foundation Box

The box reads:

- 100% said this foundation BLURRED their imperfections
- 98% said this foundation made their skin look absolutely PERFECT
- 97% said this foundation provided NATURAL coverage

What?! Who has statistics like these? Even skin care, especially Arbonne, has no 100% result from their feedback, and a lot of skin care goes into the 80% range. It's hard for anyone to get into the upper 90%'s for any kind of survey, much less have a 100% result on one of the options!

This was literally one of the first things I noticed looking at this box while waiting in line to purchase this item. In my head I'm going "Yeah right...can't be true", but then I started thinking about how many YouTubers are using this foundation now and how unlikely it is to see statistics like that, so I started to think, "Hmmm...is this for real?" The answer to my question is YES!

Before and After using the foundation
Note: No filters were used in either picture
So yeah...holy cow does this stuff make you look amazing! I just had to post a picture of my before and after because I wasn't quite sure how to describe it to make anyone actually see it in their minds well enough! All I did was clean and moisturize my face this morning. I didn't use any primer or concealer after applying the foundation. I just used my beauty blender to apply the foundation and checked out the results.

The texture of the foundation is very lightweight while providing a long-lasting medium-full coverage. There is no fragrance to it, and it blends out effortlessly to your skin! I still set it with a translucent powder (did not have that on in the picture as you can tell by the shine on my face), and it just puts that little bit of extra into what makes this foundation extraordinary without making it cakey or thick!

This foundation is officially my holy grail foundation! I never want to be out of this stuff! It got rid of all the redness on my face that I didn't want there while still making my skin look natural since I still had a little flush in my cheeks. My skin looks so much smoother with it on, and if I ever do use concealer with this, it's to highlight my face. Other than that, it covers blemishes and dark circles very well, and it just leaves me looking and feeling perfect!

I am definitely part of that 100%, 98%, and 97% population, and I'm very happy with my first Too Faced purchase! Rating is definitely a 10/10 on this beauty, and it's absolutely worth the money!

That's it for this review! If you guys want to stay up to date with some other stuff I have and have used but not posted about, follow me on Instagram (ktparte) and Snapchat (partepickle).

Casual Friday: Long Weekend for Me!

Hey everyone, and TGIF!!! I've been looking forward to this weekend for a couple weeks now because it's a three day weekend for me! I love extended time off since it gives me an extra day to relax and do nothing. I'm usually pretty productive on Saturday and Sunday with running errands, doing laundry, cooking dinner, and hanging out with family that I don't get my "do nothing" periods that I love so much. LoL

I'm excited about one thing that I'll be picking up after work today and doing a first impressions on tomorrow, and that's the Benefit Ka-Brow product! I got my Ulta magazine yesterday with a coupon to get a free sample of that product with no purchase necessary so I'm going to be taking advantage of that as soon as possible! I'm hoping to possibly get the full sized product plus the Goof-Proof brow pencil for my birthday...or at least birthday money that can go towards getting them. ;)

Oh, that's right! I haven't let anyone know that my birthday is even close! I will be turning 28 years old on July 18th. Getting closer and closer to the big 3-0! I did get complimented when I went to Ulta not to long ago that I still look like I'm about 18 so I guess it's not so horrible. Haha!

For those who follow me on Instagram (ktparte), you know that I have gotten my first two Colourpop Ultra Metallic Lippies! I got 3-Way and Zebra because, at the time, Maneater and Kween were sold out. Those were actually the two I wanted the most, too, but then I decided I wanted the whole set! I knew they were having a restock after the first sale so I was able to get Maneater and Kween on the restock date so I'm looking forward to getting them soon! Once I received them, I will then to a swatch of all of them (to be posted on Instagram and eventually here when I post the review). It's so hard not to swatch to two I have now or even wear them yet, but I must maintain my self-control for the sake of my reviews! ;)

Another thing that I received yesterday is an oil diffuser with a pack of six essential oils. I'm so happy with this little thing! It's made of plastic, but very good quality, and it has a dark wood grain design to it that makes it look sleek and perfect in my office. It also changes colors or you can leave the light off or on a fixed color, which is awesome!

I've found out that, so far, Lemongrass is my favorite scent. I'll be using Lavender at some point, too, because I already know that's a favorite of mine, but the other four I'm sure I'll be just as happy with, too. This little guy is a cool humidifier, too, which helps cool down my office. This helps a lot because my office is small and stuffy, and there's pretty much no air circulation when I'm not here and the door is shut so it's been getting warm and uncomfortable in this room. I'm so happy I got this little guy! ^_^ If anyone's interested in it, I got it on Amazon here. The oils I had to buy separately, but they weren't very expensive, and I got them also on Amazon from here.

Ok, that's my little mini-review of a non-beauty product. It's Friday so I still may do little tiny reviews like that if I get anything that calls for it and has nothing to do with makeup or skin care. LoL

Anyways, I think that's about it for now. I have a couple other new things on the way, but nothing huge. Getting hit with my more expensive bills this check so there won't be any beauty hauls, but I still have plenty to review so stay tuned!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Feel free to follow me on Instagram and Snapchat!
